Definition of effective assessment:

 

Effective formal assessment tasks practitioners provide learners with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding if the assessment tasks directly relate to the Learning intentions or par ticular learning outcome.                

 



Effective assessment criteria:

 

1.     Are known to the learner.

2.   Are clear and explicit.

3.   Focus on the important criteria and substance of the task.

4.  Allow learners to achieve at a high level.

5.   Provide for a range of quality in the work. 

 



Principles of effective assessment:

 

1.     Principle-1: Assessment should be valid.

 

2.   Principle-2: Assessment should be reliable and consistent.

 

3.   Principle-3: Information about assessment should be explicit, accessible and transparent. 

 

4.  Principle-4: Assessment should be inclusive and equitable.          

     



General Characteristics of Effective Assessment:

 

1.     Objective.

2.    Flexible.

3.   Acceptable.

4.  Comprehensive.
